About Me

Black and white studio portrait

This is a personal website aiming to contribute to raising positive consciousness amongst our community through the online development of the School of Warmth.

I have completed my Specialist training in General Adult Psychiatrist and Medical Psychotherapy and hold accreditation with the General Medical Council.  service. I have recently completed a Masters in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy at Oxford University and hold full accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapists.

I have a deep interest in psychoanalysis. Over the past 7 years, I have attended multiple courses at the Institute of Psychoanalysis. I have also undertaken training in Mentalisation Based Treatment, Compassion Focussed Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am passionate and enthusiastic about the emerging evidence of the transformative effects of psychedelic drugs in revolutionising psychiatric and psychotherapeutic treatments for some patients.  I would advocate for open discussion and dialogue amongst professionals and the public, to help reduce the stigma and misinformation around this sensitive topic.  I believe that healthy, critical discussion on these topics may help support those that are suffering from complex mental health difficulties like depression, anxiety, addictions and trauma.  My aim is to help them access new treatment options that they are currently unable to use.  The research findings are suggesting that psychedelic treatments could potentially be transformative for some patients that have not benefited from other conventional psychiatric and psychotherapeutic management options.

Disclaimer

By identifying myself as a medical doctor specialising in psychiatry, I am hoping to share personally meaningful positive messages and online content. My professional governing body, the General Medical Council, recommends that the views of doctors on social media can benefit patient care by:

a. engaging people in public health and policy discussions

b. establishing national and international professional networks

c. facilitating patients’ access to information about health and services

I would like to state my intention to share positive messages that promote critical thinking, help to challenge assumptions, stigmas and prejudices. I hope that by transforming our current view of uncertainty, fear and distress we can support each other to promote hope, collaboration and compassionate kindness that will widen our collective perception.

Intentions for this Website

Sharing
my personal journey of my development as a medical doctor, psychiatrist and psychotherapist.
Demystify the process of personal development by sharing my own experiences.
Share information and resources and introduce you to ideas, people, words, emotions and actions that have inspired me to continue my personal and professional learning.
Openly discuss and critically reflect on my own tipping points, threshold concepts and liminal spaces with new knowledge.
Foster empathy, acceptance and connection for deeper personal growth.
Encourage others to give themselves permission to explore and question themselves to continue their personal and professional learning through their own self-curiosity and self-discovery.
Encourage those who wish to share helpful experiences on this platform with the aim of developing a community of hope, collaboration and compassionate kindness
Encourage those who wish to consolidate their reflections by setting intentions and goals so that we can support each other to examine our REFLEXIVITY (decision making) and take REFLEXIVE action, which is targeted actions that align us with our virtues and values.
